Monday

... never the same It's upsetting how some people can just shrug and go on. Dealing is one thing, acting as if it's no big deal ... is another.
"Uhm..i'll be typical and talk about the happenings on tuesday. Like..i'm sad. But then again i'm not like mourning over it and all because it didn't truly affect my personal life." that was from ... (I'm not even linking because it pissed me off) .... http://smilingme.diaryland.com/22nd.html **copy and paste

Good to know that people like that are America's future huh. It's like ... yah ... people died ... I shed a couple tears but since I didn't know anyone there and I still have lip gloss ... I can deal. Get over yourself! Watch the news some. You'll see that the economy isn't doing all that great. Oh ... and gee ... looks like we might be right on the verge of World War III, but ... oh well ... I'm sure that wont affect her wardrobe.

I've read some other diaries that shrugged everything off as well. Apparently ... someone they know has to die. Or they have to run out of nail polish or something to care. I find it self-centered and ignorant. You don't have to walk around clutching a box of Kleenex but don't act as if it was just ... 'oh ... something that happened... now back to my life.'

Or maybe you have to wake up and look over at the smoke and where the Trade Center used to be to get it. Or ... or maybe help dig through the rubble and find the body parts? I was 11 or 12 around the time of the Gulf War. It affected me and I was living on a island in the middle of nowhere. I kept a journal and made notes while watching CNN with my grand parents. Was I anywhere near America? Not really and of course ... I had no idea that years later I would live right across from New York City and witness what happened last Tuesday.

I'm not American. I just live here. But it's sad to think that right now I'd do whatever I could for this country when the people who have red, white and blue coursing through their veins couldn't really be bothered.....
