2001-03-22 - 11:42:37 pm Good Day ... Bad Weather
Thursday

Good day ... bad weather. Norm even had to spend last night here. At first I thought "Gggrrr" but it was pretty cool. We ordered takeout and watched tv. Sorta like a sleep over.

I spent the whole day in the city. Going into the city's always good. It was pouring though. I headed straight to Eric's office and then left my backpack there to drop a package off for Norm.

Ever share your umbrella with strange people? I do and I did it today too. I was standing on the corner at the crosswalk when this cab pulled up. The guy got out and stood next to me. It was like instinct I guess. I just leaned to the right and held the umbrella over him.

"Thank you so much," he said.

I just smiled.

Turned out that he was going to the same building I was so we crossed the street together.

"There ya go," I said. "Sidewalk to door service."

He laughed and I smiled back before he said 'Thank you' again.

I went back to Eric's office and emailed Ricky before I left for good. I met Husani around 2:30. We were supposed to meet at like 1:30. At the Virgin Megastore like we always do. Waiting wasn't so bad. I figured he'd be late because he told me he was helping someone with some project.

Notice that whenever you're in any sort of relationship .... guys appear from nowhere? While waiting there at the Virgin ... every guy who walked in was hot and noticed me. Husani finally showed up and we headed across to Xando's. We didn't exactly have a plan. We had coffee and Husani had soup. We chatted ... and chatted. And I snapped a picture of him with my i-Zone camera while he ate. And we chatted some more. And we sipped coffee ... and chatted.

We left there and Husani tried calling some friend of his and I snapped another picture of him. I wanted to just take random pictures of him and the city for Ricky. He loves hearing about me in the city. Like I said ... we didn't have a plan so we went over to Canal Jeans. I figured they might have good baseball tees now. I can't seem to find 'em anywhere.

"What now?" I asked.

"Let's go to the Starbucks on Astor Place."

And so we did. As long as we can sit in a Starbucks and talk ... its good. Chatting and watching people walk by outside. We also went through another Village Voice to find me an apartment. We left there after 8. I got to Grand Central and looked at the itinerary. I always end up rushing to the track and missing the train by ... *holds his thumb and index finger a half-inch apart* ... this much. But then I always seem to get the next train that leaves like 5 minutes later.

So ... have you ever:

- Shared your umbrella with someone you've never seen?

- Looked at your fingers as if they're not your's?

- Been happy rambling about the one you love to a friend?

- Been happy ... period.

.... I have.
