Thursday

Today was supposed to be shitty but it wasn't. It was pretty cool actually. I was supposed to meet with Adam at 1. The weather was shitty. It wasn't raining that bad here in Jersey but it was just shitty. I got ready anyway to head into the city. I was running totally late. I rushed out and caught the first bus heading to NY.

"Yeah ... I took it like a big boy ..... No .... He wasn't as thick as me .... Naah ... that's a good thing." The guy next to me on the bus- had to be around my age or 18 was yacking on his cell phone.

I'm sorry ... but I don't need to know what you took the night before or how thick is was. He kept yacking away to 'Cleo'. The woman directly behind him kept telling him he was talking too loud. I wanted to look at him, make a face and go "eeeewww".

It wasn't until I was on the bus that I realized I forgot some pictures Norm wanted me to drop off at a color lab.

Remember I said it wasn't really raining much in Jersey? It was pouring when I got to New York. It was weird/cool ... because we were in the Lincoln Tunnel the whole time and the second we got out it just drenched the bus. The woman behind said something about it being like an amusement park ride. It was.

I rushed through Port Authority ... doing the tourist shuffle and running to the Metrocard vending machines. Everything was running slow. Everything except my watch. It was already like 10 after 1 and I wasn't even on the eastside yet. I called and left a message on Adam's machine saying that I'd be late but ... damn.

I finally got to Union Square and rushed over to Barnes & Noble. It wasn't raining now. I wanted it to. I wanted it to be pouring so I'd get soaked. That way I'd be able to sorta blame the weather. Sad puppy-eyes + soaking wet = big "aaaawww" from Adam and him forgetting how late I am. I could hear him saying that. My plan was shot and I don't like lying.

The weird thing was like just before getting to Barnes & Noble ... I saw a 'pissed' Norm look-alike. The woman was blonde and I swear looked more like Norm than ... Norm. The only thing that dismissed that is the fact that she was heading to the subway. Norm doesn't take the subway. She takes cabs or drives herself. I felt like a wanted man when I saw the look-alike though.

I got up to the 'Starbucks level'. Adam wasn't there.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" I whispered. "Great! Just great! I am sooo dead."

There was nothing I could've done. I walked over to Husani's office and hung out there for a while. He has this really cool cell phone that has AIM on it. Kick ass! I want one now hehe. I'm so glad he has a cell phone though. That way I'd be able to track him down easier. He never seems to answer his phone at home so unless he's in the city or online ... I could never seem to get a hold of him.

I wanted to go to View with him but he was going to some 'Pride' thing. It was only around 4 and there was no way I was gonna wander around the city until after 9 or whenever that thing would've been over. I could have come home and then go back but my cash is totally low and I have to go up to White Plains tomorrow. I thought of going over to Amber's and hanging out there until Husani was free ... but a part of me was just like "Blah! Let's go home and get some dinner." I hung out at the office for a little while longer, called Adam and left another message and then came home.

I thought of what I'd say when I see him again. I couldn't even think of anything. I didn't need to either. When I got home and checked my email there was an email from him saying he was sorry he missed me. He had a doctor's appointment. So ... silly me showed up for nothing. I felt pretty good though. I didn't have my number so I replied with it. I'll probably see him on Tuesday or so.
