'The Talented Mr. Ripley' was sad and disappointing. I finished watching it a while ago. *chomps on some popcorn, gummi bears and slurps on some soda* .... Yes ... I'm a part-time movie critic. *turns to Ebert* ... So Rog .... I found 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' quite sad. If you haven't seen it don't read on then but its my diary so I can write what I like.

First off ... what's the big deal about Matt Damon again? I see better looking guys taking the subway. He has big teeth and this weird smile that looks psychotic so that wasn't just for the movie. I could see something like that happening but *Minnesotan accent* .... my gash ... how disperate can ya be no? You stalk the people. Lie about who you are and end up killing people. My self-esteem isn't that low. The ending was ... wow. I wanna say stupid and at the same time I saw the art behind it so it restricts me. It was sad though that he killed that guy at the end. He clearly loved Tom. I can't believe Tom got away with so much. I actually wanted him to get caught. I did. Everytime they would come close to catching him in a lie ... I would be wishing that they'd expose him.

Do we all have the desire to be somebody? Maybe not as concentrated as good old Tom ... but maybe we do. It doesn't bring you happiness though. It can't. I mean ... look at Tom. It was too much work. Trying to know the right things. Telling the right jokes. Saying the right things. Laughing the right way. It must get tiring. It has to. He wasn't happy. I feel that first he wasn't happy with himself and then he just wasn't happy in general.

I also saw some of 'The Beach' with Leonard DiCaprio. Its still on so I'll probably watch the rest of it. Its different that the way I thought it was. *turns around with his legs crossed, munching on popcorn* ... Until then ... the balcony's closed.

I think that's what Ebert says ... I'm not even sure.
